Making John Lennon
The first thing I need to do is get the image of John I would want to
draw. I sort of wanted a theme to drawing the fab four, so i chose another early years
picture of him like Ringo's.

Then i started my sketch in a #2b pencil.
I scanned that image and then came up with this next one.
I was getting closer, but this next sketch I really began to capture John.
I then started using a #8b pencil to darken in the blacks.
that was all i needed, and in one step less than Ringo's,
i finished John. i decided to use markers to outline him, and also
black acrylic paint for the shirt and white acrylic paint on the surrounding
negative space.

then just for fun I did a little photoshopping, and I am done.

the end.

Making Ringo Starr
First we start with our image of the 'ol lad.

So then I got started on my pencil drawing. I used a #4b pencil on white illustration
board. I proceeded to draw what I saw. This was that first sketch and the phase 1:
Then I noticed so differences, now being able to compare two images on a screen. Way
easier than looking up from my board to the screen. I came up with this phase 2:
The second time around I finally figured out the huge differences. All the peices of the face were stretched out and I hadn't accurately portrayed the forshortening. I immediately
fixed these mistakes and this was that rough sketch and phase 3:
That was all I needed in order to set the foundation. It was all easy street from then on sculpting poor Ringo's skewed face in earlier phases. This was the basic un-garnished final stage and phase 4:
Then all that needed to be done was to paint a red star around his head in acrylic and outline the star with silver and black markers. The finishing touch was the little "Ringo" signature.
then finally some photoshopping and I'm done.

Thanks for reading. Comments and feedback welcomed.

Illustrior "Hero" IF

The Illustrior is a super hero I invented about a year ago.
I don't know his powers. I don't know his purpose. I don't
know how he came to be. I don't even know why he is called
the Illustrior. All I know is he is cool. Well...I like him.

Edward Scissorhands-Charcoal

I just watched this fabulous movie today,
And, well. I've been doing a LOT of charcoal drawings
lately, and Edward just spoke to me. So I made this.
It's all in charcoal. It was done on 18"x24" paper, so
it is rather large.
